GREAT BRITAIN – QEII c1967/68

Machin commemorative head original base artwork which was supplied to printers for the purpose of producing essays, together with an original photograph.  The background has been blackened suggesting it was used for essaying stamps with dark backgrounds.  The border of the artwork has pinholes through use by the designer at the printers.  This is the commemorative head which remains in use today for British stamps and has extensive use in The Commonwealth. Unique artwork in private hands.
